Seguindo neste sentido da sustentabilidade, passando pela observação do conceito ESG – Environmental, Social and Governance (Ambiental, Social e Governança), conjunto de critérios usados para avaliar se uma empresa é sustentável, ética e socialmente responsável, nossa Entrevista deste mês destaca a questão social relativa aos gêneros, fazendo uma análise sobre a mulher no setor de base florestal pela divulgação da Quarta Edição do Panorama de Gênero do Setor Florestal, elaborada pela Rede Mulher Florestal.
A nova edição da pesquisa mostra que a participação de mulheres chegou a 23% na amostra analisada, ante 13% na primeira edição, indicando avanço na inserção feminina em uma cadeia produtiva historicamente marcada pela predominância masculina. Os dados revelam que 90,6% das empresas participantes afirmam possuir políticas de gênero não discriminatórias, mas também apontam lacunas na efetividade dessas práticas, na governança da agenda e na capacidade de transformar compromissos formais em mudanças concretas no cotidiano das organizações.
Para Barbara Bomfim, presidente do Conselho Diretor da Rede Mulher Florestal, e nossa entrevistada, a evolução registrada deve ser lida com “otimismo cauteloso”. Por quê? É o que os leitores poderão saber ao ler a Entrevista desta edição.

Continuing along the path of sustainability and through the lens of ESG—the framework used to evaluate whether a company is sustainable, ethical, and socially responsible—this month’s Interview highlights the social dimension of gender diversity in the forest-based sector through the release of the Fourth Edition of the Forest Sector Gender Panorama, prepared by Rede Mulher Florestal.
The new edition of the study shows that women’s participation reached 23% within the sample analyzed, compared with 13% in the first edition, signaling progress in female representation within a production chain historically characterized by male predominance.
The data also reveal that 90.6% of participating companies report having non-discriminatory gender policies in place, while at the same time exposing gaps in the effectiveness of these practices, in governance of the agenda, and in the ability to translate formal commitments into meaningful changes in day-to-day organizational life.
