A Valmet realizará uma ampla reconstrução na máquina de papel PM 2 da Sylvamo, localizada em Eastover, Carolina do Sul, EUA. A modernização incluirá uma nova caixa de entrada, melhorias em diversas seções da máquina e soluções do Internet Industrial. A previsão de início das operações é para o final de 2026.
O pedido foi registrado como parte das encomendas recebidas pela Valmet no primeiro trimestre de 2025. O valor do contrato não foi divulgado.

Informações técnicas da entrega
A reconstrução da máquina de papel incluirá um novo headbox OptiFlo Gap, a reconstrução da seção de formação com tecnologia OptiFormer Gap (com shoe e lâmina), além de melhorias na preparação de massa e em outras seções da máquina.
O projeto contará com o suporte das soluções do Internet Industrial da Valmet, como conectividade e suporte remoto sob demanda de especialistas do Valmet Performance Center, bem como fornecimento de vestimentas para máquina de papel e pacotes de peças de reposição. Soluções de automação, incluindo o Valmet IQ Steam Profiler, IQ Dilution Profiler e a expansão do sistema de monitoramento Valmet DNA Machine Monitoring, também serão entregues.
A máquina de papel, com 9.450 mm de largura (372 polegadas), produzirá papéis finos (fine paper).

Valmet to supply a major paper machine rebuild to Sylvamo in North America
Valmet will supply an extensive rebuild for Sylvamo’s paper machine PM 2 in Eastover, South Carolina, USA. The rebuild for the paper machine will include a new headbox, enhancements to various sections of the machine, and Industrial Internet solutions. The start-up is scheduled for the end of 2026.
The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2025. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

Delivery’s technical information
The paper machine rebuild order will include a new OptiFlo Gap headbox, a rebuild of the forming section with OptiFormer Gap forming with shoe and blade technology, and enhancements to stock preparation and various other sections of the machine.
The rebuild is supported by Valmet Industrial Internet solutions, such as connectivity and on-demand remote expert support from Valmet Performance Center, as well as paper machine clothing and spare parts packages. Automation solutions, including the Valmet IQ Steam Profiler, IQ Dilution Profiler, and an extension to the existing Valmet DNA Machine Monitoring system, will also be delivered.
The 9,450 mm-wide (wire) (372 inches) paper machine will produce fine paper grades.
